Critical Information  -  11 August 2020

Due to the Governor's New Safer Home Order for COVID19, and earlier scheduled CEU courses having been cancelled the following exception for obtaining only 6 hours for Category I and 9 hours for Category II licensure renewal online has been revised.

The State of Alabama Board of Examiners of Assisted Living Administrators met again August 11, 2020, to discuss the issue of a renewal process.

The BOE voted and approved to extend that the Administrators needing to renew their license between September 30, 2020 and December 31, 2020, will be allowed to receive all needed CEU hours electronically. The administrator will be allowed to increase the hours online from 6 – 12 hours for Category I, and 9 -18 hours Category II.

The courses must have NAB approval. A list of approved sites are listed below.

Administrators may receive required CEU's until September 30, 2020. Beginning October 1, 2020 hours approved for online CEU's: 6 hours for Category I and 9 hours for Category II as allowed in the Rules and Regulations of the BOE will be accepted.

The responsibility will be solely on the Administrator to send the certificate of completion to the BOE office to be added to your license for renewal. The certificate will be required to be emailed for documentation for the administrator and the BOE.

When a course has been completed, please e-mail the certificate to:
Candace.singleton@boeala.alabama.com

Be sure that the certificate clearly states your name and the number of hours that you received.
