Objectives:
- To understand the importance and need of legal documents including Durable POA and Advanced Directives.
- To define legal capacity, what does it mean to be incapacitated, and who makes that determination?
- To outline the Guardianship Process both contested and uncontested
- To identify the proven strategies for long-term care planning and methods to protect assets for the spouse and pay for senior care facilities.
- To review all aspects of Estate Planning to address Elder Law Issues including, financial planning, the definition of various types of trusts, and the definition and avoidance of undue influence.
- To explain after-death issues including probate vs. non-probate and the handling of estate assets and estate administration.
